DONUTS (eggless)

Doughnuts or Donuts are the most popular sweet snack in many countries and can be prepared in various forms. Doughnuts are usually deep-fried from a flour dough, and typically either ring-shaped or a number of shapes without a hole and often filled.  Various toppings and flavorings are used for different types, such as sugarchocolate, or maple syrup.

Making homemade donuts are easier than you think. With that signature bakery taste and texture, donuts from a doughnut shop are incredibly delicious and indulgent. When you can’t pick up your favorite donuts, why not make them at home instead? 



INGREDIENTS

Warm water - 1/4 Cup

Sugar    - 3 Tbsp

Yeast     -   1 Tsp

Whole wheat flour - 1 Cup

Water - as required to knead the dough

Butter or ghee -    1 and 1/2 Tbsp

 Salt -      a pinch

 Cooking oil for frying

Dark Chocolate or any Chocolate you like

Powdered sugar

Toppings- almonds (you can use chocolate sprinkles etc)



PROCESS

1.   Take warm water (make sure it’s Lukewarm and not very hot) add 1-2 teaspoons of sugar and yeast. Set it aside for 10 minutes.

2..  Take whole wheat flour and add the above-mentioned yeast dissolved water. Mix the above ingredients.

3.Now, add the water as much required to knead the dough. The dough might appear breaking and a bit sticky but it’s okay.

4.    Now, add butter or ghee and knead it for 1 minute.

5.    Let the dough rest for 25-30 minutes

6.    After 30 minutes, the dough raises

7.    Take the dough and knead for 30 seconds.

8.    Now take a handful portion and roll it with the belan (like how u do for roti)
*take some dry flour and use it in minimal quantity to dust the dough while rolling in order to prevent it from sticking to the plate in which you’re rolling

9.   . Now take a donut shaper or any glass and cut the rolled dough
* if you’re using glass then u need to take any small-cap in order to cut the middle portion.



10 Now take a kadhai and pour oil enough for deep frying and let the oil heat
*don’t overheat the oil in order to avoid burning(if needed, take a tiny amount of the piece and test it by frying it)

11. Now take your donuts and fry them till they turn brown.
