Chocolate pancakes (EGGLESS)

PANCAKES

pancake (or hotcakegriddlecake) is a flat cake, often thin and round, prepared from a starch-based batter that MAY contain eggs(our recipe would be eggless), milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often frying with oil or butter. (Can be done without oil/butter/ghee too )

The pancake's shape and structure vary worldwide. Pancakes may be served at any time of the day with a variety of toppings or fillings. Pancakes serve a similar function to waffles.

A pancake is usually fried on both sides and filled with jam, cream cheese, chocolate, or ground walnuts, but many other fillings—sweet or savory—can also be used.

All pancakes are usually made with the use of added raising agents. Pancakes may be served at any time of a day with a variety of toppings and fillings.
In India, usually, pancakes are served as a snack but this beautiful dessert can be served as a breakfast too. Since it is an easy recipe that involves a pan and one bowl! It needs simple ready-made ingredients and the cooking process is least complex. Also, it provides a sweet start for a day if served as breakfast and not kidding, we must say it is such a vibe! ;)

SO HERE WE GO!

INGREDIENTS:

All purpose flour (maida) - 1 and 1/4th cup

Cocoa powder   -   1/4th cup

Powdered sugar - 1/4th cup

Baking powder  - 1 teaspoon

Baking soda - 1/4th teaspoon

Salt - a pinch

Butter - 2 tablespoons

Milk - 1 and 1/4th cup

*THIS WILL MAKE AROUND 10 PANCAKES

PROCESS:

1.     Take a bowl and add powdered sugar, melted butter/ghee, and give these ingredients a good mix. Mix them vigorously.

2.     Now add all-purpose flour (maida), cocoa powder, powdered sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and milk.

3.     Give all these ingredients a good mix. (not vigorously, just make sure there are no lumps)

4.     If needed, add milk to adjust the consistency.

Since we are making pancakes without eggs we should make sure that we mix our ingredients properly and the consistency of the batter proper. MIXING PROPERLY IS THE KEY.

COOKING:

1.     Heat the non-stick pan or tawa and take a good scoop of batter and pour it on the pan.
*DON’T SPREAD IT. LET IT SPREAD.

2.     After few minutes, you would see tiny bubbles forming on the pancake. You need to then flip the pancake carefully to the other side.
*now this is where we make mistakes. We often flip the pancake immediately which spoils the texture of the pancake or breaks it. We need to flip it only when we find the bubbles or pores on the pancake.

3.     Serve it with your favourite toppings and fillings.

YOU CAN SERVE WITH CHOCOLATE SYRUP AND DUST SOME POWDERED SUGAR AND ADD SOME FRUITS IF U WANT TO.  :)
